One day in summer Frog was not feeling well.

夏日裡的一天，青蛙感覺不太舒服。

Toad said, 「Frog, you are looking quite green.」

蟾蜍說：「青蛙，你臉色發青。」

「But I always look green,」 said Frog. 「I am a frog.」

「我本來就青啊，我是一隻青蛙。」青蛙說。

「Today you look very green even for a frog,」said Toad. 「Get into my bed and rest.」

「就算你是青蛙，今天你也青過頭了。快到我的床上去休息。」蟾蜍說。

Toad made Frog a cup of hot tea.

蟾蜍為青蛙泡了一杯茶。

Frog drank the tea, and then he said, 「Tell me a story while I am resting.」

青蛙喝了茶，說：「我休息的時候給我講個故事唄。」

All right,」 said Toad.「Let me think of a story to tell you.」

「好啊，」蟾蜍說，「我想個故事講給你聽。」

Toad thought and thought. But he could not think of a story to tell Frog.

蟾蜍想啊想，就是想不到一個故事講給青蛙聽。

「I will go out on the front porch and walk up and down,」 said Toad. 「Perhaps that will help me to think of astory.」

「我要到外面的走廊走走，」蟾蜍說，「這樣我就能想到故事了。」

Toad walked up and down on the porch for a long time. But he could not think of a story to tell Frog.

蟾蜍在走廊上走來走去，走了好久也想不到一個故事。

Then Toad went into the house and stood on his head.

蟾蜍走進屋子倒起立來。

「Why are you standing on your head?」 asked Frog.

「你幹嘛要倒立呀？」青蛙問。

「I hope that if I stand on my head, it will help me to think of a story,」 said Toad.

「我倒立的話就能想到故事了。」蟾蜍說。

Toad stood on his head for a long time. But he could not think of a story to tell Frog.

蟾蜍倒立了很久，就是想不出一個故事。

Then Toad poured a glass of water over his head.

於是，他往自己頭上倒了一杯水。

「Why are you pouring water over your head?」asked Frog.

「你幹嘛要往自己頭上倒水呀？」青蛙問。

「I hope that if I pour water over my head,it will help me to think of a story,」 said Toad.

「我往自己頭上倒水的話就能想到故事了。」蟾蜍說。

Toad poured many glassed of water over his head. But he could not think of a story to tell Frog.

蟾蜍又往自己頭上倒了好幾杯水，但還是想不出一個故事。

Then Toad began to bang his head against the wall.

於是，蟾蜍開始用自己的頭撞牆。

「Why are you banging your head against the wall?」 asked Frog.

「你幹嘛要用自己的頭撞牆呀？」青蛙問。

「I hope that if I bang my head against the wall hard enough, it will help me to think of a story,」 said Toad.

「我用自己的頭狠狠撞牆的話就能想到故事了。」蟾蜍說。

「 I am feeling much better now, Toad,」 said Frog. 「I do not think I need a story anymore.」

「蟾蜍，我現在感覺好多了。我不用聽故事了。」青蛙說。

「Then you get out of bed and let me get into it,」 said Toad, 「because now I feel terrible.」

「那你趕緊下床讓我上去躺會兒，我現在非常不舒服。」蟾蜍說。

Frog said, 「Would you like me to tell you a story, Toad?」

青蛙說：「蟾蜍，你想聽我給你講個故事嗎？」

「Yes,」 said Toad, 「if you know one.」

「好呀，如果你有故事講的話。」蟾蜍說。

「Once upon a time,」 said Frog, 「there were two good friends, a frog and a toad.

青蛙開始講了：「從前有一隻青蛙和一隻蟾蜍，他們是好朋友。

The frog was not feeling well. He asked his friend the toad to tell him story. 一天青蛙不舒服，他叫蟾蜍給他講個故事。

The toad could not think of a story. He walked up and down on the porch, but he could not think of a story.

蟾蜍想不到故事。於是，他在門廊里走來走去，但也想不到故事。

He stood on his head, but he could not think of a story.

接著他倒立，但也想不到。

He poured water over his head, but he could not think of a story.

於是，他往自己頭上倒水，但還是想不到故事。

He banged his head against the wall, but he could not think of a story.

最後他用自己的頭去撞牆，也還是想不到。

Then the toad did not feel so well, and the frog was feeling better.

這時蟾蜍病了，青蛙卻好了。

So the toad went to bed and the frog got up and told him a story.The end.

於是蟾蜍要躺在床上休息了，青蛙就起來為蟾蜍講故事了。故事結束。」

"How was that, Toad?」 said Frog.

「蟾蜍，這個故事怎麼樣？」青蛙問。

But Toad did not answer. He had fallen asleep.

但是蟾蜍沒有回應，他已經睡著了。
